Women/Female health is the most overlooked subject in Himachal Pradesh. Most of the females are unaware or overlook or hide their problems. They usually suppress it until it converts into major health concern. The first step of staying healthy is knowing what you're up against, and then taking the necessary precautions to reduce your risk.
It is important that every woman has access to knowledge, related to the women's health issues, not only about her reproductive system, but about all aspects of her body.

There are many diseases and conditions the men and women share, while most of the health issues of these women face on their own, like hormonal issues, gynaecological, etc.

The common symptoms which women should take seriously are:

irregular menses, flow related symptoms, unhealthy discharges, skin infections, genital itching or rashes, weakness, weight gain or loss, body ache, localized pains of body, fatigue, irritability, sleep problems, mood swings etc

Some common women health troubles are as follows:  

  • Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS)

More than 150 symptoms are linked to PMS, the severity may vary from person to person and on influencing conditions. Most of the common troubles are depression, blotting abdomen, headaches, body aches, constipation/diarrhoea etc.

  • Menopause

Problems associated with menopause are irregular periods with profuse or scanty flow, depression, vaginal dryness, hot flushes, sleep disorders, mood swings etc.

  • Gynaecological Complaints

Problems associated are vaginal bleeding, infectious diseases, pelvic pain, abnormal discharges, breast lumps, skin ailments of genital area etc.

  • Thyroid Disorders

Though thyroid disorders are not sex linked disorder but studies reveals that females are more prone to this problem, i.e hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism, goitre, thyrotoxicosis etc.

  • Cancer (cervical, ovary, breast etc)

As per WHO number of people suffering from cancer is increasing day by day and in females, data’s are shocking; study reveals most common cancer affecting females are cervical, ovarian, uterine and breast and ratios are increasing.

  • Maternal Health (Pregnancy related disorders)

It usually refers to female health during pregnancy, child birth and post delivery troubles.

  • Sexually Transmitted diseases etc

Problems associated with genital herpes, vaginal itching, rashes, and discharges.
